I was expecting the “Unleashing the power of Stage3D” presentation (presented by Ville Koskela) at Max 2011 to up on Adobe TV (http://tv.adobe.com/show/max-2011-develop/). I’ve watched a great deal of episodes so far, but when is this one going to be up?

Thanks for posting videos from Max. Been trying to find original links on tv.adobe.com (been hit or miss.)

I also would be interested in seeing some videos of talks on concurrency.

As a blog with one of the highest Google hits for using game controllers / gamepads with Flash I’m wondering what is the deal with GameInputDevice? I haven’t seen anyone cover it. Does Flash 11 support this? Is there a Flex SDK I can grab that has this defined? (Almost no information beyond http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/beta/reference/actionscript/3/flash/ui/GameInputDevice.html )

    Hi Jesus,

I am actually also looking for it to post it here. I am asking around. It was a great session. I will definitely put the link here as soon as I get it.

    Baptiste,

    Hi dknox,

Me too! I missed this session and I have been talking to Ville a bit at Max, I am sure this session was great. I will also put the link here very soon when I get the link.

    Hi Tronster,

Yes, I am searching for the Concurrency session too.

I have been trying out the bitmap height and width limits and I found the new sdk has gotten rid of the error thrown when loading large bitmaps but is inaccessible to copyPixels or to add to the stage. My image is 12000×1024. anything under 8192 width works fine. How might I resolve this?

    P.S. Flash Player 11 rocks

Sorry, to answer my own question. The new Flash SDK does support really high resolution bitmaps, its just not capable of loading extremely large jpegs. You may load 2 6000×1024 pixel jpeg and sew them together in one large BitmapData

    Hi Spencer,

    Sorry for the delay.

Have you tried using the swf-version argument for the compiler ?

    swf-version=13

Enhanced bitmap size support is version checked and will be enabled only if you use swf version 13.

    Let me know,

    Thibault

    Hi Thibault,

Enhanced bitmap size support is working for me now. But like I was saying, the Loader doesn’t seem to react well to loading large jpgs, even if it doesn’t throw an error. But I can load two 8000x2000px jpgs and put them together on a 16000x2000px BitmapData and it works fine.

I have attempted this with both AIR sdk 3.0 in Flash Professional CS5.5 and Flex sdk 4.6 in Flash Builder 4.6

    Hello Thibault,
grabbed the dev os2 yesterday for RIM’s Playbook, with flash 11/air 3 inside. Went to do some stage3d testing with great hopes, as some of it was demonstrated on a tablet…but nothing is displayed, black screen! Do you by any chance know why/when would we be getting stage3d there? Seriously considering switching to Corona/Unity/Others as I have some games on the pipe to deploy before end of year…And no serious indication about why some have access rather than others…. Merci Thibault.
