Particles with Stage3D (Molehill) and Flash Player 11

Just a quick post, to share this with you. I have been playing with particles with Stage3D and Flash Player 11 (running at 60fps on my MacBook Pro).

Sources will be provided soon, here is a little video of a few tests :

Update : This demo is available here (was produced with Starling)

When will AIR3/FP11 be released? Next month maybe?

  2. Nice. Are the particle physics calculated on the GPU or with AS3?

    Hi

very nice ! Did you also used Pixel Bender. Btw…what will bring Pixel Bender 3D ? Because now, on desktop in runs only in CPU mode, on Blackberry OS it runs very poorly (looks like virtualized) and on iOS it doesnt run at all.

    Hi Thibault,

have a look at Lars Gerckens ND2D, a quite advanced 2-d-engine for fp11 which goes into a similar direction.

    Nice work anyway :)

    Hi Don,

Thanks. Yes, Lars is doing great stuff with ND2D, I think 2D on the GPU will be big for Stage3D, I hope many frameworks emerge to offer the best workflow for developers.

  16. Hi. Don’t hesitate placing FP11 content instead of footages. I guess many people are already equipped with it(running on beta)

Never mind… the demo is indeed working, excellently in fact. Missed the right-key thing described on this page: http://www.bytearray.org/?p=3371

Please feel free to remove this and the last comment Mr. Imbert.

Hey! The link is not working on Chrome.
Btw, it would be nice to see how many particles are emitted at each frame.
